Our Story
Our journey into the world of aquaponics started with a conversation and a bit of serendipity. For ten years, my husband, who worked in the Emergency Room, had been pitching the idea of aquaponics to me. His enthusiasm for this sustainable farming method was unwavering, but it took a while for me to fully grasp the concept.
One day, I decided to explore the idea more seriously and found a local aquaponics facility. Excited by the prospect, I asked him if he’d like to tour it with me. We scheduled a visit, and after the tour, the host surprised us with an unexpected proposition: she offered us the chance to run the farm.
My husband was immediately on board, but I needed more time to consider the opportunity. After giving it some thought overnight, we decided to seize the chance and accepted the offer to manage the aquaponics garden.
It wasn’t long before we discovered that the facility’s owner had plans to expand the farm significantly. Suddenly, we were thrust into a pivotal moment: sink, tread water, or swim.
